Dar es Salaam , Tanzania

I found out that I had an African card showing something else except wild animals , what a joy ! It was send to me from my ex Tanzanian penfriend Sammy (it is not stamped however) . It depicts Kilimanjaro Hotel in Dar es Salaam , Tanzania's biggest city. It was once the capital too but it handed over the priviledge to the city of Dodoma . It remains the cultural & economical center of the country though! It was founded by sultan Majid bin Said of Zanzibar in 1865 very close to small fishing village called Mzizima (Swahili term for " healthy town ).Dar es Salaam means home/harbor of peace ( Arabic : dar (home) or bandar ( harbor) & es Salaam ( of peace )!

and now I dig into the past again continueing with non stamped cards . First of  them comes from Tanzania and like most of my african cards depicts animals. Sent by my Tanzanian ex penpal Sammy . So enjoy the company of the giraffes :)
