Long time , no see  as not many cards have arrived these weeks . Now that I got a few I decide to update in order not to be totally behind with this . I'll start with a card from a city that I always plan to visit but I always fail to do so ! I was supposed to go there in September but it didn't work out !! But Ana did instead of me and like always remembered to drop me one card . Thanks dear ~I know I owe you ;-)

I totally laughed when I saw these cards while opening Nenad's envelope :) And I love them all !

2 are from Serbia picturing in a funny way traditional families in districts of Vojvodina and Sumadija and the other one is the 10 Commandments of a Montenegrin , in French . I have a very vague idea of what it says but I don't risk to translate it :D Hvala ti puno Nenad

Aleksinac , Serbia

Here is a card from Serbian city of Aleksinac. The territory of this city has been inhabited since the Neolithic Age and as the whole of Balkan Peninsula , has been under Roman , Byzantine , Slavic , Ottoman influence (just to mention a few cause Balkans is a melting pot of cultures) When I saw this card , the first thing that came to my mind is that I had heard this towns name so so many time during the NATO bombings in Yugoslavia back in 1999. I really don't wanna discuss any politics , all I want not only for Aleksinac but for everyone out there is PEACE! 

Boljevac . Serbia

My Serbian friend Nenad has enrichened my collection a lot as you can see ! He lives in the city of Boljevac and here are 3 wonderful cards from his hometown . All I could find in wiki about this town was that a massive grave of WW2 victims was found in that area and that the town has a significant Romanian population! Hvala Nenad

Rtanj , Serbia

Rtanj is a mountain in Serbia , southeast of Belgrade between the towns of Boljevac and Sokobanja . According to a local legend a wizard's castle was situated on its highest peak (Siljak ). However the castle dissapeared and in its place there is the chapel of St George. That does somehow ring a bell to me ( being a Balkan myself ) and reminds me how also here Christians decided to build  their temples on the remnants of our older , pagan culture ! Hvala Nenad

Nis is the 3rd largest Serbian city and one of the older ones in the Balkans, thanks to Nenad for giving various aspects of this city

Sokobanja is one of the most popular resorts within Serbia and my thanks are off to Nenad again :)

Novi Sad , Serbia

Novi Sad is the 2nd largest city in Serbia (located in the northern province of Vojvodina ) and it is really beautiful as you can see from the 3 following postcards. My thanks go to Nenad for one more time

Belgrade , Serbia

Things in the "postcrossing" are going great : my card to Belarus was delivered plus a swap was arranged as well, so 3 cards are on my way now :D In the meantime I'm still in the mood of writing in this blog , so here it comes a card from my neighborhood in the Balkans ! Belgrade , Serbia ! Belgrade ( Beograd in Serbian ) means the "White City" , lies at the confluence of Danube and Sava rivers , it has been the capital of Yugoslavia from it's creation in 1918 until its final dissolution in 2006., when the last ex-YU republic that was still in union with Serbia , Montenegro declared its independence ! Today it's the capital of Serbia and it's largest city.

It is one of the places which I hope to visit soon ! I heard its night life is excellent plus I would like to meet my old Serbian friends whom I miss a lot ! This card was send in 2000 from my dearest Jelena in team work with my other crazy mate Sylvia , while Sylvia was visiting Belgrade !It is not stamped , it has a postal sticker instead , which was popular in my letters coming from Serbia !!
